Prior to joining The Arc, Payne served in multiple
leadership roles for nonprofits across Palm Beach
County. Most recently, she was the CEO of The Homeless
Coalition of Palm Beach County from 2020 to 2023. Prior
to her position at the Homeless Coalition, Payne was
the executive director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society (LLS), with oversight of Palm Beach, Martin, St.
Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, and Hendry counties
from 2005 to 2020. During her 15-year tenure at LLS,
she received national recognition after South Florida
was named a top performing chapter. Payne also served
as the senior executive director for the American Heart
Association for 26 years (1979 to 2005) where she focused
