(561) 268-2355, or email events@hanleyfoundation.org. On Aug. 15 the Jupiter Town Council directed Town
staff to create the new Jupiter Fire Rescue Department
(JFRD) to deliver excellent levels of service at a lower,
more sustainable cost to Jupiter residents and businesses.
The Town Council will have local control over costs,
operations, and levels of service. This will enable the
council to make fiscally responsible decisions on behalf
of Jupiter’s residents and businesses. It significantly
decreases the cost of fire rescue and emergency services
compared to that charged by Palm Beach County Fire
Jupiter Beach Specialists Rescue (PBCFR), currently and into the future.
In late 2022, the Town retained the Center for Public
Safety Management (CPSM) to conduct a Fire and EMS
sold sold Sustainability and Feasibility Study that explored different
service provider options for future fire and EMS services.
The study outlined start-up costs, ongoing operational
costs, and a 36-month implementation timeline for
creating the JFRD.
In July 2023, the Town and Palm Beach County
executed a 10-year interlocal agreement for PBCFR
to continue providing fire rescue and EMS services to
Jupiter. PBCFR’s costs to provide service to Jupiter have

A homesteaded Jupiter property valued at $550,000
will pay about $951 in 2024 for PBCFR fire rescue
services. This represents a significant cost as well as a
significant cost savings opportunity.
Over the 10-year time frame of the interlocal
agreement, it is forecasted that Jupiter taxpayers will
