      may networking breakfast

The Palm City Chamber of Commerce held their May
Networking Breakfast at Piper’s Landing Yacht and Country
Club on May 31, the eve of Hurricane Season. The theme
was Hurricane Preparedness with amazing speakers, Tami
Karol with the Tami Karol Insurance Agency and Bob
Thornton from O’Donnell Impact Windows and Storm
Protection. The breakfast buffet put on by the chef and his
team was fabulous and enjoyed by all.
Tami Karol reminded us to make sure that we have
our insurance coverage up to date and that you have
copies of your insurance documents with you if there is
an emergency. Tami also talked about the need for flood
insurance, which is not a part of your homeowner’s
insurance unless you add it separately. She had a great
poem to help us remember to be prepared and to talk to
your agent if you have any questions or concerns. Tami
Karol supports many of our local non-profits because she
believes “we live here, work here, so we give back right
here in our own backyard.” Our sponsors and Chamber Ambassadors
Our second speaker was Bob Thornton on the
importance of keeping our home safe. If you don’t have
impact windows, Bob is happy to assist you with those
or other forms of storm protection like shutters. Bob just
wants to be sure that you have a plan to remain safe in
an emergency. Bob believes that our community should
work together to be sure that everyone is safely protected
in case of a storm. He is willing to help out anyone at
      anytime so just reach out.
Tami Karol Insurance Agency and O’Donnell Impact
Windows and Storm Protection gifted all of us with a
manual can opener for our hurricane preparedness kit.
They also raffled several wonderful coolers with more
necessity items in case we don’t have power for a bit. Chris Coller with Twinkles, Bill Hachmeister from Haley Bob and Amy Thornton, O’Donnell Impact Windows and
