Cardinal Newman High School Hosts Food Packing

Event Providing Over 60,000 Meals For Those In Need

Cardinal Newman High School partnered with Cross
Catholic Outreach on Saturday, Feb. 5, for a food packing
event to feed hungry children and families in need.
The community service project concluded the school’s
celebration of Catholic Schools Week and brought
together 279 enthusiastic volunteers who packed 60,192
meals, all in one day. “Throughout Catholic School’s
Week, we commemorated our important mission of
faith, excellence and service,” stated Cardinal Newman
High School’s President, Brother Thomas Zoppo. “Our
partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach which involved
students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni vividly
demonstrated our commitment to service others.”
“It was great to see the school community come
together for this very important cause that truly makes a
difference for people in need,” said Tessie O’Dea from
Cross Catholic Outreach. “Mothers and fathers who don’t
