during World War II,
working on D-Day,
June 6, 1944, as a radio
mechanic in constant
contact with allied
fighter planes taking
part in the invasion,
many of whose pilots
never returned.
During this year’s
annual commemorative
visit to Normandy to honor those who sacrificed their
lives that day and in the weeks that followed to secure
victory over the Nazis, the now 100-year-old Harold
Terens ensured the beginnings of new, happier memories
