Lifetime Achievement Award Was Presented To Betsy Owen
Lee Williams of 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast
was named the 2023 Woman Volunteer of the Year at
the 36th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show hosted by
the Junior League of Boca Raton (JLBR). The Lifetime
Achievement Award went to Betsy Owen of the Rotary
Club of Delray Beach.
Nonprofits from across South Florida nominated one of
their top volunteers to be considered for Woman Volunteer
of the Year. The nominees were honored and the recipients
were named at the luncheon on Nov. 10 at The Boca Raton.
Lee Williams has been committed to making a difference
in Palm Beach County for years. Since volunteering from a
young age, Williams has been deeply immersed in the local
community. Over the years, she decided that she wanted to do
more than volunteering by taking on roles that allowed her to
make a difference. She has been instrumental in the growth All of the Woman Volunteer of the Year nominees
of 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast where she serves
as Board chair. She has coordinated food drives, mentored
children, provided hurricane relief, lent professional
guidance to nonprofits, and has been a critical leader in
the capital campaign for 211’s new building. Williams’
colleagues describe her as one whose leadership style favors
impact over visibility. She is a force multiplier, connecting
local and state resources to build a better community.
