Gene Discovery Earns Patent
for New Method
to Identify Effective
Addiction Treatments

Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute, and Maureen K.
Hahn, Ph.D., research associate professor in FAU’s
Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, received
a U.S. patent for a novel method to identify
therapeutic agents to treat addiction using a gene
discovered by Blakely’s lab.
