The most valuable time was the two breakout sessions
where students gathered in small groups with a Holocaust
survivor to hear and bear witness to their personal
testimonies, with time for conversation and questions.
This day represented an extraordinary opportunity to
hear firsthand the atrocities of the Holocaust and delve into
the lessons for the future and for now. The objective was to

According to Nonprofits First, there was a record-
breaking number of nominees at this year’s Hats
Off Nonprofit Awards. Other Alpert JFS nominees Time for

and community education specialist, for the Hats Off
Lifetime Achievement Award; and Lyndora Frazier,
director of Mentoring 4 Kids, for Hats Off Nonprofit
Professional of the Year.
