didn’t get the holidays off, but still had family traditions

If you had a live-cut Christmas tree as part of your
tradition in the way you celebrate the holidays, you should
take it down and dispose of it properly this month.
The trees seem to dry out over time regardless of how
much you try to keep them hydrated, and that can add to
the fire hazard already
somewhat inherent
in having a real tree.
A slight break in the
wiring for the lights
can be a fire risk.
As you take the
Jill Rappaport, Alan Stephanie DeWaters, Bryan electric ornaments and
Rappaport Tierce Donna Thompson, Drew George Newkome, M.J. lights off your home and tree, please take time to check the
Thompson Sanders condition of all electrical components before packing them
away if you plan on using them again next holiday season.
Depending on where they are stored for the next 10 to 11
months, heat and humidity can take a toll.

In October, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm
Beaches awarded Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Station
16, located on Military Trail in Abacoa, as Fire Station of
The Year for having the most cardiac arrest saves of any
of the 49 stations operated by Palm Beach County Fire
Rescue. Cardiac arrest is when a patient is clinically dead,
and a save means the patient’s heartbeat is restored by the
paramedics in the field, and the patient is able to leave the
hospital. That is a very special accomplishment for any
station, and the Jupiter residents should be proud to have
that level of expertise and professionalism in Jupiter.
747-PALM There have been several survivor-crew reunions held at
Station 16 for the survivors and their families to meet their
747-7256 rescuers under much better circumstances. These reunions
are an emotional experience for all involved.
Please stay safe and well.
