Historical Society Celebrates

Grand Exhibition Endless Summer Opening

More than 300 fashionable guests attended the Grand
Opening Reception on Nov. 8 for the exhibition Endless
Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear in partnership with The
Palm Beaches at the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach
County History Museum. VIP ticket holders were treated to
the ribbon cutting in the Out East Rosé Lounge set up around
the entrance to the historic 1916 courthouse, an exclusive first
view of the exhibit, a fashion presentation, music, and Island
Kitchen Catering.
The main exhibition area in the second-floor galleries
showcased 129 years of style from the society’s archives
and loans from private and public collections. Guests are
welcomed to the exhibit with a title video detailing Palm
Beach’s fashion history, narrated by Tommy Hilfiger. This
display was complemented by an archival photograph gallery, Tommy Hilfiger and Dee Arlette Gordon and Gail Lucrezia Bucellati and David Lizzi Bickford Meadow and

an elegant tablescape by Pioneer Linens, and wine service on
the third floor. The fourth-floor balcony houses a colorful new
children’s education area, where school-age children can try
out four activities related to the exhibit.
Notable attendees included Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger and
Tommy Hilfiger, Jean and Martin Shafiroff, Valerie and
Harry Cooper, Lucrezia Buccellati, Lilly Leas Ferreira,
Mira Fain, and Zang Toi.
The much-anticipated exhibition was celebrated in
collaboration with luxury fashion brands in Palm Beach, South
Hampton, Manhattan, East Hampton, and Newport. Jeremy
Johnson, president and CEO of the society, thanked the Host
Committee and Junior Committee filled with community leaders,
Palm Beach society, and fashion icons for their contributions in
many forms that helped make the exhibition grand.
