ATTENTION JUPITER RESIDENTS
DARKNESS & INJUSTICE
Mayor Kuretski and a majority of the Jupiter Town Council voted to FIRE
our current firefighters to start a new town Fire Department of their
own. They hid this in a consultant presentation under the title - Fire and
EMS Study Update - in the cover of dark to thwart resident comments,
involvement and awareness.
When residents found out, we were outraged, and the council didn’t care.
Since then, we’ve packed Town Hall at every council meeting, sent
hundreds and hundreds of emails, and exhaustingly voiced frustration and
concerns all over town and across social media, only to be continually ignored by a Town Council that won’t listen.
To force our council to listen, we banded together to start a Charter Amendment Petition to put the issue of our fire rescue
provider to a vote of the people. To sponsor the amendment, we formed Jupiter Residents to KEEP Palm Beach County
Firefighters, a coalition of concerned citizens who are sick and tired of the elected leaders we put into office not listening.
RESIDENTS SUBMIT 10,000 PETITIONS DEMANDING A VOTE
In just two weeks, concerned Jupiter residents collected nearly 10,000 petitions—20% of all registered voters— calling
for a Charter Amendment to decide this critical public safety issue and put it to a vote in a special election on March
19th, 2024.
IRRESPONSIBLE, WASTEFUL, AND WRONG
Despite the Town receiving the petitions on October 25th, they have continued racing forward, recklessly spending
millions on their plan that voters may REJECT in March.
EVEN THREATENING TO TAKE US TO COURT
As the Mayor and majority of the Town Council have used their position to silence residents from getting a voice, the
Town Attorney and his office have made veiled threats of legal action to stop this petition and deny a vote.
Isn’t this America, where democracy and a chance for residents to get a vote should prevail?
What are our elected officials afraid of?
We say enough is enough.
It’s time to let the voters decide!
