      Preserve Land
The Town of Jupiter learned that a 15.5-acre, Palmwood
Preserve property, designated as a conservation/
preservation area in 1998, had somehow had its ownership
transferred from NPBCID to a private group with desires
to develop it. This property is located south of Frederick
Small Road and west of Palmwood Road.
I fondly remember that this specific preserve property
contained an active eagles’ nest, until the nest was blown
      down during a hurricane event.
After the town became aware of this transfer of
property ownership, we advised the involved parties

        Update

        Speeding Up Inspections

        By Commissioner
        Maria Marino
           Palm Beach County’s
        Building Division reviews
        thousands of building
        permits each year. When
        construction is underway,
        inspections are required to
        ensure compliance with
        codes. During the current
        fiscal year (10/1/22 to
        9/30/23) thus far, the
division has conducted more than 164,000 inspections.
To meet the high demand for inspections and to
save the public time and reduce the inconvenience of
scheduling and waiting for an inspection, the division has
launched a new program offering video inspections. This
program specifically applies to limited residential permit
descriptions as part of single-family home renovation
projects requiring a permit and includes:
        *Reroofing
        *Garage door replacement
        *HVAC equipment change out
        *Plumbing/water heater change out
        *A/C electric hardware
        *Shutters
        *Siding
        *Stucco on lath
        *Tube-type skylight
        *Solar photovoltaic system
        *Water heater electric hardware
        *Window and door replacement
A licensed inspector performs the inspection with the
contractor or their designee on the jobsite using a free,
secure Video Inspection Pro smartphone app available
for Android and iPhones. There is no additional cost for
the recorded inspections, no pre-scheduling requirement,
and the results are available in the online ePZB portal.
The system is easy to use, visit https://discover.
