you go out for the evening, take a sweater because everything
and everywhere is air conditioned and you don’t want to get
chilled. Many people find the heat is of no problem to them
and here at Boca Pointe everyone had a pool close by for a
delightful afternoon dip.
Sometimes summers in New York are so hot, yes
sweltering, many days well over ninety degrees, so
occasionally it’s actually cooler here in Florida. I kid my
northern friends by inviting them to come down to Florida
till their heat wave is over so they can cool off.
Seriously, once you live here year-round you look forward
to the summers when the snowbirds take off and you can
spread out and enjoy all that Florida has to offer now that
the crowding is over. The lines at the bank are shorter,
supermarkets are less jammed and there’s almost a calm that
prevails over the state when it gets back to belonging to the
year rounders. There’s even a discount for Florida residents
at Disney and permanent Florida residents get tax benefits
too. So, if you’re thinking of coming to the sunshine state
and living here for the entire year, make no mistake, this
place is paradise, you’re going to love it, heat and all.
