Beginning Nov. 1, your
driver’s license or photo ID
number will change when
a customer conducts a
transaction resulting in the
issuance of a credential.
The length of the driver’s
license or photo ID number
will stay the same.
The driver’s license number
will continue to start with an
alpha character.
The number assigned
to an original, renewal, or
replacement identification card
must have a minimum of four randomly generated digits.
The randomly generated “customer number” generated today
will be incorporated into the new algorithm.
