start. Following the race, participants refreshed with hydration
stations and snacks while children enjoyed face painting, games,
bubble machines and entertainment from Supreme Events. The
awards ceremony began with a reading of the names of children
who lost their lives from drowning, followed by special medal
presentations to race category winners and prize drawings.
“We are incredibly appreciative of the contributions
from our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and year-round
supporters of Live Like Jake,” said Live Like Jake Founder

600 children have learned to self-rescue in the two years since
our pool has been opened in Palm Beach Gardens. Part of our
mission at Live Like Jake is to support those families whose
lives have been forever changed by a nonfatal drowning
accident. Those families whose children survive a drowning
but have lifelong medical needs as a result. We are so happy
to be able to use donations raised this year to help give them
some of the relief they urgently need.”
Following the 5K winners’ awards and prize drawings,
Morrison shared the foundation’s upcoming events which
include: Watermelons for Water Safety (June 1 to Aug. 31), Volunteers welcomed runners with refreshments from Crux
