Piper’s Landing Holds
Golf Tournament Fundraiser For SafeSpace

On Feb. 21 the Pipers Landing Women’s 18 Hole Golf
Association (PLWGA) held a golf tournament charity
event for SafeSpace, the only state certified agency serving
domestic violence victims and their children in Martin, St.
Lucie and Indian River counties. Members of the PLWGA
and other members of the Piper’s Landing community
supported the event by sponsoring golf holes, making
donations, buying raffle tickets and auction items. The event
cochaired by Nancy Wong and Rosemary Burns included
a luncheon with a live auction conducted by Mik Panavas,
silent auction and a tea cup raffle of over 60 items and a
talk by SpaceSafe CEO Teresa Albizu.
The event raised $26,335 which included over $3,000
from about 50 PLWGA members who paid to buy welcome Piper’s charity event golfers
bags/purses containing personal hygiene and toiletry items

Fore Sistas Hit ’Em Long And Straight At Golf Fundraiser

When Stanley Campbell, owner of Martin Downs
Golf Club, welcomed approximately 80 golfers and
20-plus volunteers to the Second Annual Fore Sistas
Golf Tournament on March 4, he complimented the
board members for going from staging last year’s
introductory event to quickly becoming its own
501(c)(3) nonprofit this year.
The golf match was preceded on Friday, March
3 by a Woman’s Health Symposium that featured
speakers Dr. De Anne Collier, Dr. Jeaudine
Hill, Dr. Juliette Lomax-Homier, Dr. Bebe Pajo.
Madetric Woods, NP, Mallory Gillespie, DPT and
Julyne Viau, MS[LS1].

Hibiscus Children’s Center’s Martin County Guild
Celebrates 30 Years Helping Children
The Hibiscus Martin County Guild recently celebrated 30 to raise funds for the children
years of helping children and giving them a brighter future. and help spread community
Pam Gardner, who was a close friend of Hibiscus Founder awareness about the needs
LaVaughn Tilton, hosted the first Hibiscus Guild meeting in of abused children on the
her home 30 years ago. She was joined by 31 like-minded Treasure Coast. Several of
women who wanted to make a difference for abused children these incredible women,
