February MAG Exhibit from page 1
• Carol Kepp: loves
to paint the ocean’s blue
green water, primarily
with oil, which has
been her media for
years. It gives her rich
colors for shadows and
soft colors for sunlight.
The movement of the
water rushing to shore
can give a feeling of
calm or give energy.
• Maria Grace
Miele: her work
captures and interprets Carol Kepp
natural environments in
an expression of color and minimal composition and a variety
of subject matter. Inspiration is in the form of life, pop culture,
people, bold composition and interpretive abstracts.
• Martha Quigley finds inspiration in the colors of the ocean
and all things nautical, as well as capturing the personality by
detailing eyes and expressions of animals she paints. She loves
working in oils with their unmatched luminosity.
• Laura Kay Whiticar: After a career in mathematics,
her artistic journey began about ten years ago when she
began collecting beads, pearls, gemstones, coins, crystals,
beach coral, shells and sea glass, which she incorporates
into her work which uses fine silver, sterling silver and 14K
jeweler’s gold.
The exhibit runs Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 6
p.m., Feb. 3 to 27, with an opening reception on Feb. 3 from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m., which will feature individual hors d’oeuvres
servings, a cash bar and music by Paul Hamaty.
Masks are required and available, in case you forget yours.
COVID-19 Safety Guidelines followed. The 3,300 square feet
