10th Anniversary Of Dancing With The Martin Stars
Raises $115,511
The 10th anniversary of Dancing with the Martin Stars, the signature fundraiser for the
Martin County Healthy Start Coalition, was a spectacular evening with previous star alumni
headlining the show.
The event was held at the Starstruck Performing Arts Center on Sept. 25. Livestream
tickets to watch the show online were also available for the first time.
In past years, stars were paired with a professional dance instructor to learn and perform
a dance. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Aubrey Campbell, associate executive director,
and event coordinator, recruited ten previous stars who paired up as five competing teams.
A professional dance coach trained each couple for the competition.
Participating dancers were: Cheree Ramirez and Rachel Terlizzi, coached by Marianella
Tobar; Rosi Shepard and Casey Cass, coached by Craig Calvin; Shaun Kelly and Randy
Pennington, coached by Marianella Tobar; Maggie Slobasky and Fabi Gonzalez, coached
by Bob Murray; and Andrea Levy and Patty Morris, coached by Leah Landau.

Humane Society Of The Treasure Coast
Hosts The Purr-Fect Event
Supporters of the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast who were looking to connect
through cats and wine found the “purr-fect” event. The Kitty Catalina Wine Mixer was
recently held in the Palm City shelter’s Memorial Garden and raised nearly $2,000 to
benefit the animals. In addition, two cats were adopted during the event.
Outdoors, guests sampled wine and light bites from these Florida-based wineries:
Secret Gardens Winery & Farm in Sebring, Quantum Leap Winery in Orlando and San
Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine. Inside the shelter, supporters cuddled cats and kittens
that were available for adoption. Cat adoption fees were waived during the event.
“This event gave supporters an opportunity to mix and mingle with friends and

society’s community outreach director. “Of course, the cats themselves were the main
attraction.”
